Inland the ground is largely impervious and the streams run high and flashy, so a heavy rain arrives fast and leaves through somebody's basement.
Then there's the age of the houses. Woodbridge went from 35,758 people in 1950 to 78,846 in 1960, a 120 percent jump in ten years, and a large share of the homes we work in came out of that build-out. Supply lines, sewer laterals, and basement drainage from that era are all past their design life.
