Complete Home Exterior Painting

We handle whole-house exterior painting for all types of siding, including wood, fiber cement, brick, and stucco.

Trim, Doors & Accents

For a truly polished exterior, we also paint all the important details. This includes trim, fascia boards, shutters, doors, and garage doors.

Deck & Fence Painting/Staining

We offer deck and fence painting or staining services to restore and protect your wooden structures.

Surface Cleaning & Preparation

We begin by power washing exterior surfaces to remove dirt, mildew, and flaking paint. Next, we scrape off any loose or peeling paint and sand rough edges. We also take care of caulking gaps around windows and doors and can perform minor wood repairs.

Priming & Weatherproof Coatings

We apply premium primer where needed to seal the surface. We then use top-quality exterior paints that are engineered for durability and color retention.

Our Process

Exterior Painting Process

01. Initial Consultation & Free Estimate

We start with an on-site consultation to inspect your home’s exterior. We evaluate the condition of the existing paint, siding, trim, and any problem areas (like wood rot or peeling). We’ll discuss your goals, color ideas, and any specific concerns you have. Based on this, we provide a detailed written estimate outlining the scope of work. We aim to give you a clear, firm quote with no surprises, and we can assist with color selection or samples during this phase as well.

02. Washing & Surface Preparation

Preparation is critical for adhesion and longevity. Our team begins by washing the exterior to remove dirt, mold, and chalky old paint residue. Once dry, we proceed with surface prep: scraping off loose paint, sanding rough edges, and performing needed carpentry repairs such as replacing small sections of rotted wood. We also caulk gaps and cracks around windows, doors, and siding seams to seal out moisture. Finally, we protect areas like windows, lighting, and landscaping by masking or covering them before painting.

03. Priming & Painting Application

With a clean and prepped surface, we move on to priming and painting. We spot prime any bare wood or repaired spots with a high-quality exterior primer to promote adhesion. Then our painters apply the finish coats using professional equipment. We typically use brushes and rollers for precision on siding and trim, and a sprayer for larger surfaces when appropriate (ensuring everything is masked to avoid overspray). We apply at least two coats of top-grade exterior paint for a rich, even color and added durability. Our team works methodically in sections to make sure every inch of your exterior gets proper coverage.

04. Final Touches & Cleanup

After the painting is completed, we handle all final details. This includes painting or reinstalling removed fixtures (like downspouts, shutters, or light fixtures) and doing a thorough inspection for any touch-ups needed. We then remove all masking materials and protective coverings. Our crew cleans up all paint chips and debris from your property, leaving your yard and surroundings as neat as we found them. We also dispose of any hazardous materials, like old paint chips or cans, in accordance with regulations (especially important for lead paint projects).

05. Walkthrough & Inspection

Finally, we conduct a comprehensive walkthrough with you. We inspect the entire exterior together to ensure every area meets our high standards and yours. If you have any questions or spot any area of concern, we address it immediately. We will also review maintenance tips to help you get the maximum life out of your new paint job. Once you’re completely satisfied, we consider the job complete. We then provide you with documentation of your warranty and our contact information, encouraging you to reach out if you ever have any issues. Our goal is that you love the look of your home and feel confident in the quality of our work.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you protect my landscaping and outdoor items while painting?
Icon

Before we start, we ask that you trim any shrubs or tree branches that are very close to the house if possible. We will cover plants, flower beds, patios, and outdoor furniture with drop cloths or plastic sheeting to shield them from paint. We also temporarily remove or cover exterior fixtures like lights, cameras, or address plaques. Our careful masking and prep means that we only paint the surfaces that are intended to be painted – everything else is protected.

What if it rains during my exterior painting project?
Icon

We closely monitor the weather forecast while planning and during the project. If rain is in the forecast, we will adjust our schedule to ensure we are not applying paint right before or during rainfall. In case an unexpected shower occurs, we stop work and make sure everything is covered. Paint needs sufficient drying time to cure properly, so we won’t resume painting until conditions are dry again. Your home will never be left in a vulnerable state – for example, we won’t leave bare wood exposed to rain. Our goal is to complete the project efficiently, but never at the risk of a bad outcome due to weather.

How long will my new exterior paint job last?
Icon

That can depend on the paint used, the surface condition, and the weather, but a professionally done exterior paint job typically lasts 7-10 years before needing repainting. We use high-quality, long-lasting paints and do thorough prep, so many of our customers find their paint jobs look good even beyond that range. To extend the life of your exterior paint, we recommend occasional maintenance like washing off dirt/mildew and touching up small areas if they get damaged. When you eventually need a refresh, we’ll be here to help again!

My home has old paint from the 1970s – can you handle lead paint safely?
Icon

Yes. We are EPA Lead-Safe Certified to deal with lead paint. This means our team is trained in lead-safe work practices and we have the proper equipment to do the job safely. If your existing paint is lead-based, we will take extra precautions: containing paint chips, using special HEPA sanders and vacuums, and following protocols to prevent any lead dust contamination. We will inform you if lead is present and discuss our plan, so you can have confidence that your family and property are protected throughout the process.
